John W. (Jack) Evers III, 85, on September 5, 2009. Husband of the late Carol G. Evers, father of John of Picton, Ontario; Cynthia (Paul) Tiger of Longmont, CO; and Thomas (Laura) of Harvard, IL. Grandfather of Tillman and Great-grandfather of Giovan. Jack grew up in Highland Park and after serving in the Pacific with the US Navy during WWII, he graduated from Lake Forest College and settled with his young family in Lake Forest. For over 30 years he oversaw the publication of Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics, the Journal of the American College of Surgeons. He was devoted to his family and friends, golf and the Bears.
