James E. Keilwitz, 67 of Lake Bluff, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2010, from complications following heart surgery. He was born August 9, 1942 in Denver, Colorado. A graduate from the University of Utah and the Art Institute of Los Angeles, he worked for Sperry/Rand Corporation as National Sales Manager for many years. In 1980, he started his own company designing and programming inventory control systems for manufacturing. Eventually he expanded into the retail grocery and food distribution market. In addition to his great love for his family, he loved reading, cooking, fishing, and arguing politics with his many friends. Loving and devoted husband of 27 years to Barbara Keilwitz, his “bride”; proud and loving father of Gregory Keilwitz, Tampa, FL and Geoffrey Keilwitz, Duluth, MN and stepfather of Kristine Lemnah Laign, Leesburg, VA and Jeffrey Lemnah, Castaic, CA; Papa Jim to 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; Brother of William Keilwitz of Maine, Sisters Jodine Blender of Colorado, the late Kay Martinelli, and the late Nada Jester; son of the late William L. Keilwitz and Thelma Keilwitz nee Graves. The family will gather to celebrate his life in Ocean City, Maryland, a place Jim truly loved.
