Michael John Palmer, age 57, of Lake Bluff, IL formerly of Milwaukee, WI passed away June 30, 2010 surrounded by his family. Michael is survived by the love of his life, Marti (nee Wood), his children Megan (John) Looby, Lindsay, John and Patrick and his brother Steven (Kathy). Michael’s passions were playing baseball as a teenager and playing golf into his early 50’s. He loved to learn and earned undergraduate degrees in Political Science, Accounting and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Michael enjoyed his unique career, he was a co-founder of Diamond Technology Partners in 1994 where he was the co-Chairman of the North American Area Operations Committee and served on the firm’s Management Committee. Prior to joining Diamond, Michael was a vice president with James Martin Associates, a leading information engineering firm. Earlier, he served as a partner at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), where he had administrative responsibilities for that firm’s international banking practice for North America. His work efforts included working with many of the leading trading companies, commercial banks, and investment banks in the United States, Middle East and Latin America, where he helped organizations realize significant business benefits through the use of value-creating technologies. In lieu of flowers, Michael requested donations be sent to the University of Wisconsin Foundation attn: Michael J. Palmer Memorial, US Bank Lockbox #78807 Milwaukee, WI 53278. Donations will benefit the School of Education and a scholarship for students continuing their education for a special education certification. A memorial service will be held on July 9 at 11am at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest, 700 N. Sheridan Rd., Lake Forest, IL. No visitation. Interment Private. Info.
