| Donald P. (Don) Welles, Jr., a longtime former resident of Rockford passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012, three days before attaining his 85th birthday. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gerry Snow Welles, and is survived by his second wife, Anne Bolling Welles in addition to four daughters, Gerry Welles, Damaris Welles, Allison Meima and Margery Welles and seven grandchildren. Don attended St. Paul’s School and was in class of 1951 at Yale University. He was formerly associated with Besly-Welles Corporation in South Beloit, Illinois, and later founded Welles Products, Inc. In Roscoe, Illinois. After moving from Rockford to Lake Forest, Illinois, he founded HYCOR Corporation, located in Lake Bluff, Illinois. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00a at The Church of The Holy Spirit, 400 East Westminster Road, Lake Forest, IL 60045.
