| Deborah Williams MacKenzie, born March 21, 1938, passed away May 11, 2012. She was the beloved wife of David Odell MacKenzie, and devoted mother of Douglas, Marion (Roger W. Christoph), Carolyn (Harley Stimmel), and David (Casey Phillips). She is the daughter of the late Albert D. Williams, Sr and the late Louise Metcalfe Williams of Lake Forest. Her brother, Albert D. (Joyce) Williams, Jr., also preceded her in death. Loving grandmother of Henry, Tommy, Gordon, Laura, Elizabeth, and James Christoph; Steven, Jake, Russell, and Joe Mac Stimmel; and Harper and Evan MacKenzie.
Deborah was loved by all that knew her and loved life itself. She had a magnificent garden, was a wonderful golfer, and loved the outdoors. A busy woman, besides raising four children, Deborah was on the Illinois and Wyoming Nature Conservancy Boards, the National Parks and Conservation Board, President of Lake Forest Open Lands, Trustee of the Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, Connecticut, the Captiva Island Historical Board, and the Lake Forest Garden Club. She was also a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America, the Contemporary Club of Chicago, the Garden Club of America, and the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest.
Memorial services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest, 700 E. Sheridan Road, Lake Forest at 3:00 PM, Thursday, May 17, 2012.
