| Jon T. Wagenknecht, a beloved father and Lake Forest community member, passed away on May 21. He was 63 years old. A hero to his children, Jon was also an avid tennis player, cook, treasurer of the Lake Forest High School Booster Club and a lifelong friend and colleague to many. Born June 2, 1948 to Dr. Theodore Wagenknecht and Verda M. Hamann, Jon grew up in Streator, Ill. He graduated from Wayland Academy in 1966, received a BS from Princeton University in 1971, and earned an MBA from The University of Chicago in 1973. He is survived by his four children, Theodore, Paige, Leigh and Wyatt, his sisters Lynn, Ann and Celenda, and brothers Karl and Eric. Family and friends will celebrate Jon’s love for life at a 1:00pm Memorial Mass on June 1, 2012 at the Church of St. Mary, 175 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest, IL 60045. | |
